Lonnie “Dr. Ax” Mason Loses Battle with Brain Cancer.

Juggalos and Juggalettes…it is with a heavy heart that I bring to you some absolutely terrible news.  If you’ve been coming to Faygoluvers for more than a decade, then you might recognize the name AxSylum aka Dr. Ax.  He used to cover all of the ICP and Twiztid hotlines, and also had a Juggalo Q&A section back in the day.  He was a talented writer and an amazing friend.

Lonnie, aka Dr. Ax had been battling a particularly brutal form of Cancer for the past few years.  It was brain cancer, and after several rounds of radiation and chemotherapy, Lonnie passed peacefully in his sleep on December 7th, 2019.

Lonnie didn’t post on Facebook much, nor did he get out to many shows or events.  In fact, I only met him once at the 2008 Gathering of the Juggalos, but have known him for years, and considered him a brother.  He was one of those ninjas that you could go without speaking to for weeks, but when you did finally have a chance to catch up, it’s like you never skipped a beat.

He was a great friend, brother, son, and will be truly missed.  My most sincere condolences go out to his friends, family, and anyone else who’s life he ever touched.

Rest in Peace, brother.
