Insane Clown Posse on Why They Painted Their Faces (Part 2) [VladTV Interview]

Part 1: https://goo.gl/6MaFUZ

In this clip, Insane Clown Posse detail the start of their quest into music. They pointed to 1989 as the start when they began making “basement tapes” which garnered them a buzz around the city. Prior to devoting their time and talents to hip-hop, ICP initially saw themselves becoming wrestlers but felt the music route was more of a calling. They also described the Detroit hip-hop scenes which included the more underground battle rap scene contrasted by the more studio driven, indie enterprise scene – similar to indie hip-hop artists in the South. And told of how Kid Rock used to be a legitimate MCee before going mainstream.
