Nardwuar Responds to Violent J concerning Taking Back Gifts

The recent interview that Steve-O conducted with Violent J has certainly made some headlines…and not for why you might think.  In this interview, they spoke about the 2016 interview that Nardwuar conducted with the Insane Clown Posse.  In it, Violent J makes a revelation that they didn’t get to keep the “gifts” that Nardwuar presented to them.

I actually always wondered how he could afford to give everything that was presented to his interviewees, as some of that stuff is rare and I assume pretty expensive!  Well, the truth is he doesn’t give them EVERYTHING that is shown, but is very calculated in what he says when showing some of the reference items.  For instance: he specifically mentions that the Sir Mix-A-Lot keychain and Michael Jackson cards (with bubble gum) were gifts, while some of the other items (such as the Smiley vinyl) were not.

Nardwuar took great offense to this and even made not one, but TWO videos explaining it.  The first was in long form (40 minutes) where he states probably 50 times that if he doesn’t say it’s a gift, it’s not a gift.  You can watch that here:

To be fair, I don’t think that J meant anything malicious by it.  I also see Nardwuar’s side of defending his name.  What do you think about all of this?
