Notes
- You may recognize the vocalist for this album, as it is "The Dirtball" of Suburban Noize Records. He has 4 albums with their label, Pop A D-Ball, Raptillion, Crook County and Nervous System. He also has a Solo CD he released prior to signing with subnoize called The Dirty D Project Vol. 1. Recently he was added to the Kottonmouth Kings as the 8th member / 4th vocalist for the group.
Groove The Nation is from before all of this, when he was still in the band Chola. Chola at the time - vocalist/guitarist Justin Johnson, bass guitarist John Maxwell, percussionist Kevin Blanchard and vocalist/drummer David "Dirty D" Alexander - is a unique mixture of funk, hip-hop and rock, transcending all boundaries and styles of music and creating something that can only be called "Chola". This band would focus on high energy, in your face performances with the plan to basically ‘get-fucked-up'. Dirtball, called Dirty D at the time, was on the drums, headset and all, straight rappin' and holding down the fort and the front. Alongside was fellow founder, Tokin J, rappin' and blazing the guitar. They had a series of bass players throughout and had a solid percussionist that went by the name KGB. They became a staple for several clubs as well as opened for several established bands along the way. All in all, they killed it in the intermountain area, but never had the break they needed to take it to the next level. They recorded two CDs, the first self-titled, and the second titled “Groove the Nation”.
The Dirtball is also a member of the Suburban Noize Records supergroup, the Subnoize Souljaz. You can get all of Dirtball's recent albums at http://www.subnoizestore.com/ where you can also pick up Subnoize Souljaz, Kottonmouth Kings, and many other great releases. Enjoy this album and support the underground!
