Dallas Juggalo named Marty “12 Gauge” Sanderson has passed away

It’s been ten days since one of my closest friends has passed away, and I still haven’t found a way to wrap my head around it.  Another good friend of mine pulled me aside at the Gathering and told me the news, and I immediately lost it.

If you have ever been to an underground show in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, chances are that you knew Marty “12 Gauge” Sanderson.  Marty lived life to the fullest, was a husband, father of 4, and was a fiercely loyal friend.  He would do anything for anyone, and unfortunately his life got cut short on August 12th.

Marty’s celebration of life took place tonight, and if there’s ANY silver lining to this, it’s that his friends and family from near and far showed up in force to honor him.  Hundreds gathered at one of the most legendary music venues in Dallas, Trees, to share stories and give condolences to Marty’s friends and family.  While I wish there was something I could say to bring him back, or at least make the loss more bearable, I at least know that his family has hundreds of people who will help them through this impossibly trying time.
